Nene valley swimming club

About the Club

The NVSC was formed in February 2011, after discussions with the Nene Centre about offering a local swim club to users of the Nene Centre pool.  The Club became affiliated in May 2011 to the Amateur Swimming Association (swimming’s governing body) which means that we can compete in local galas and the County, Regional and National competitions.  The Club worked very hard to achieve the Swim 21 accreditation which is the standard set by the ASA for which Swim Clubs should operate. We are very proud of what the Club has achieved so far, particularly having to relocate our training sessions following the closure of the Nene Centre for a year in September 2012. We offer swim training sessions for all abilities and encourage all our members to interact and foster friendships in the pool environment as we are proud that our older members have become lifelong friends through the sport of swimming. We feel the sport provides many life skills to children and fitness with the chance to compete at various levels, ie development galas to National competitions. The Nene Valley team is a family working together to help children learn life-saving skills in a disciplined and enjoyable environment.

The Club has also links with PACTRAC (a local Triathlon club) which enables the older swimmers to swim alongside motivated adult swimmers and provides swim training opportunities for any adults that already have some swimming ability to step up their swim fitness.
